I love Spring so much. Like so much. Winter makes me feel dead inside, and the only thing that keeps me going is the promise of Spring. I love the bright warm promise of Spring, getting outside again and thawing out!

What is it about Spring that makes us so happy? The longer days, warmer weather, birds chirping, the sun- everything just seems better and brighter. Spring also is a time of re-birth, change and growth. It’s the time when we want to start something new, get rid of the old, dust the wintery cobwebs off, and start fresh. I always have the need for change in the Spring. If you have the feeling that you want to change some things, but don’t quite know what, here are some ideas for Spring Change!

1.Clear away physical clutter. You know the term “spring cleaning”? It exists for a reason. Get rid of stuff this month! You will feel lighter! Clean out your bedroom closet and the clothes that haven’t fit since you were 17. I took an entire carload of old clothes, shoes and toys to Goodwill last week and it felt amazing! Buy new, fresh sheets. Give your bathroom a new coat of paint.
2. Clear away emotional clutter. Do you have old emotions, limiting beliefs or past events that still haunt you? Are there things in your life that you can’t move past? Are you feeling stuck? Angry? Sad? See someone who can help you. Clear your mind for Spring!
3. Start something new. What have you always wanted to do? Start an exercise program? Take a course? Join a group? Do it now!
5. Get outside. I love cleaning up our yard and setting up the outdoor furniture. Go for walks, do your workout outdoors. Start an outdoor project. Enjoy the weather!
6. Plan a trip. Everyone needs to go away. Start researching where you want to go, and figure out how to make it happen. Travel can be very affordable, and nothing is more rewarding than a fresh perspective in a new place.
7. Simplify. Feel overwhelmed and stressed? Find ways to simplify your life. Plan meals in advance and pre-cook or use your slow-cooker. Take time out for relaxation and family time. Breathe. Meditate. Put things in perspective. So what if the laundry doesn’t get done. No one has ever died from wearing dirty socks. Give yourself a break.
